Carole Baker: Photographic Work in Progress

Discussion of my ongoing work which explores the relationship between the land, nature and competing forms of development. It considers the fragility of this connection and the consequences of following short-term economic imperatives. The Orchard is a reflection on time, process and being in relation to the English countryside, while Pura Raza Española uses documentary informed by art practice to investigate aspects of the economic, geopolitical and cultural significance of the purebred Spanish horse and its global diaspora. Having just returned from Spain, this session will reflect in particular on my recent research there.
